Glasclay

GLASCLAY™Glass Clay

From the makers of Bronze Clay™ and Copper Clay™ comes a great new glass product called GlasClay™. We're just getting a feel for it, and are really excited to work with this fun product. GlasClay™ promises to be a revolutionary medium for your artwork, providing all kinds of new applications and experimentation to fire up your creativity.

GlasClay™ is just that:  glass in a cold form, that can be worked in a manner similar to "clay". It starts out in powder form, and you mix the desired amount with distilled water. It's affordable and easy to use. You can make three dimensional objects, including hollow and free standing pieces, set stones, hand-fabricate intricately decorated beads....the possibilities are endless! You can even control the surface finish of your work in a matte, shiny, or glossy appearance depending on the number of times fired, and the firing schedule used. (Firing schedules and working notes are included from the manufacturer with each order). What's more,GlasClay™ can even be fired multiple times, giving you great versatility by adding components separately as you create them!

This product does require a kiln that fires to a minimum of 1400F to complete the sintering process, and is highly recommended to have a programmable controler to ensure the multi-stage firing schedule is followed. More on that when we begin offering the product.

Right now, the clays are available in a 90 or 96 coe, but we are also expecting to see a line of 104 and 33 coe as well, and all will be offered in full spectrum of colors! We at JetAge Studio want to know what you think! Please take just a moment to let us know if you're interested in this product, what coefficient you'd like to see us carry, and lastly, what colors would you like to see us carry; there's a huge spectrum out there, so help us narrow it down. Your feedback is much appreciated!

p.s. Many thanks to Renee Wiggins of www.jetagestudios.com for the text and photo on this page.  Please visit her site for the best murrini and silver based frit blends!!!
