FAQ's
What types of payment do you accept? TOP
I take Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover
cards. If you would like to send a check or money order, I hold
your merchandise for 10 days, then return to stock if I don't receive
payment. If you send a personal check, there will be an
additional delay as I have to wait for your check to clear before
sending your items.
Is your frit compatible with Effetre/Vetrofond/Lauscha glass? TOP
While the COEs are different (my frits range from about
92-96 COE), they can be used in small amounts with soft glass. Most of the sample beads shown with frits
have been made with soft glass. If you
experience incompatibility cracking, you are using too much frit with too
little glass on the base bead!
Please check out my new COE 104 frit blends. These blends ARE completely compatible with Effetre/Vetrofond/Lauscha, and can be used heavily with your COE 104 glass!
I've noticed that you haven't had much copper mesh for a while. When will you have more? TOP
I haven't yet decided whether to continue carrying copper mesh. Not only has copper risen in price over the past year (jealous of silver, perhaps???)....but I have to cut the copper myself, and frankly, I cut my hands to shreds every time! Just doesn't seem worth it!! If I get enough requests, I'll reconsider...so let me know!
Why do I have to pay extra to have my items shipped out of the US? TOP
Unfortunately, I cannot absorb the added shipping costs. If you live outside the US you will be charged the exact shipping amount I am charged by the Postal Service to ship your package. If you were charged too little by my shopping cart I will either send you a Paypal invoice for the added amount, or if you are paying by credit card I will send you an email requesting permission to charge your card the full amount.
Do you mind if I make frit blend suggestions? TOP
Not at all! In fact, if I use your suggestion to develop a blend, I'll send you 2 oz for free! I'm working hard developing more coe 104 blends this summer, and welcome any suggestions and opinions!
Do you offer USPS insurance? TOP
At present, you must select and purchase insurance as an
“item”. Pappashop is working on a new
plan for shipping computation, but it won’t be ready for a while.
How securely do you pack your glass? TOP
All glass cane is first wrapped in stretch plastic, then
tissue. The bundle is then rolled in
bubble wrap and placed in a Priority Mail box or tube with packing peanuts
and/or bubble wrap at each end. We also
use a very visible FRAGILE sticker on the outside.
How can I find out when you have new products or promotions? TOP
Sign up for my online newsletter! Here is the link to the newsletter signup page. I do not share or sell your information with anyone. I do not send out the emails on a regular basis...just when I have something newsworthy to report!
Why don't you pack your glass in Flat Rate Boxes? TOP
I simply don't feel that I can pack glass rods as safely in a flat, rectangular box as I can in a long, narrow box (i.e. 5"x5"x20"). I do keep several sizes of boxes on hand to reduce the total weight as much as possible. Also, as USPS Priority rates can become very high for heavier boxes traveling across the country, I will frequently ask the customer's permission to ship by DHL, from whom I can pass on a much lower shipping charge.
